Ooh, ooh, ooh. I know! A monkey would learn and walk away from this torture (COP). A person just keeps lining up for more every day.

1) Place five monkeys in a cage.

2) Suspend a banana in the cage above a ladder.

3) When any monkey attempts to use the ladder, wet all five monkeys with a fire hose.

4) When monkeys no longer attempt to use the ladder, replace one monkey.

5) Note that when the new monkey attempts to use the ladder, the other monkeys will beat him up. The fire hose is no longer needed.

6) Repeat step 4 until all original monkeys have been replaced.

7) Note that at this point, no monkeys use the ladder and none of them knows why.

This is how organizational cultures stagnate. COP employees are no different.

At least the monkey is smart enough to know Bartlesville isn't being shutdown.

At COP, the monkeys work for the bananas.

The monkey is smart enough to escape before the bananas are gone.
