no suprise- when black and decker pulled out I guess the rest left in the bidding would be low balling the offer- $2 billion was never a realistic target. The fact we haven't heard the result and I believe it was supposed to be at the end of October probably means no one is interested or have offered a low amount that Eddie cannot accept if he is to keep face.

I agree a deal should have been announced by now. I think "As seen on TV "was the only bidder.
Yeah it would be interesting to know what any actual offers were. It's hard to imagine anybody paying an amount above the low $millions for the brand names of a near dead company. The big retailers don't need the names and smaller companies aren't going to pay Eddie's price. The SHC names will be available for near nothing very soon, after Sears and Kmart fail.
