Let's consolidate all today's layoff news in this one thread. I'll add a summary of previously posted sites and numbers as a reply to this message.
Good luck to all who have been laid off, and to the ones still waiting for the news as well.

Waste on luxury perks for the execs is disgraceful, especially when some of the laid off staff will now have difficulty paying their mortgages. What's worse is the $$$Billions wasted drilling crap prospects. Trash that was vigorously promoted by Susan C and her SDR's. They rationalized every piece of junk "prospect" they saw, pumping them up with inflated resource estimates and grossly understated risks (geologic, economic and political). Then they suppressed opposing views and used the risk team as cover to justify the exaggerated numbers. Any team member who dissented was bullied into submission, an enforced "consensus" you might say. But the real world couldn't be bullied. The wells were all dry, sometimes without finding any reservoir or working HC system, and let's not even mention their lack of viable economics had they inadvertently come in. So who paid for this? Not Susan or the exploration/new venture managers who drove the process. Susan C, Jimmy D, Henry H, Ian G, Danny N, Robby B are all still in place. Incompetents one and all, yet all are still pulling in massive salaries, bonuses and stock incentives as rewards for their failure. They remain in place, protecting Susan, unrepentant, and eager to repeat the same mistakes. As long as this bunch is around Noble will continue to fail and more good people will loose their jobs.
Yes get rid of more people who lose their livelihoods and the ones left have to do way more but you never hear how Denver is throwing Millions of dollars on Denver Broncos pr crap and advertising on Tv so DS, GW, BD, KF, AJ, SC can all fly up on private plane to watch games in luxury booth with food and free booze, must be real nice! How many jobs could be saved? But then that is not the concern, is it???? How come we never hear about that?
For the past couple of years, I have mentioned repeatedly that the only way to save Noble is to get rid of Susan C. and her A** Kissing SDR’s, who are the main reason for all problems. I am wondering why the SEC or Board of directors do not interfere in another look alike Enron’s situation? Don’t you think it is time to have a peaceful demonstration to let the media know how few selfish, arrogant and egoistical managements are destroying the company and people’s life? So much for the Noble’s core value and its purpose: “Energizing the world and bettering people’s lives”. To me they are bettering their own life and they don’t even care for any of their staffs. As previous comment written, they are pocketing a huge bonuses and giving themselves a big raise. Where is the justice?
Susan et al, the architects of Noble's demise, keep on keeping on. Within 5 years this company will be a shell of it's former self.
While Noble waits for Leviathan gas to turn on it will loose hundreds of millions more with more NO-ventures ventures. The folks in New Ventures should have been shown the door years ago, Falklands, Nicaragua, France, India, Sierra Leon, Gabon to name a few. These guys couldn't find a decent prospect if it hit them between the eyes.
Good luck to those who remain employed.
Mark my words, Noble will have ANOTHER round of layoffs within the next 12 months
Looks like Susan kept her friends. If you have a problem, nothing like fixing it with the same people. Let go of some solid people, but Susan kept her friends. Way to go DS, your building a great company relying on someone who isn't doing the best thing for the company, but decides based on who she is friends with.
Heard some Finance / Accounting types were also included; accountants, one or two finance managers 90and the hedge guy among a couple of others.
Not much info here, what was the final count?
nice to see that Greeley's newspaper cared enough to print the story. Nothing, so far, in Houston Chronicle/FuelFix or Houston Business Journal.

Anybody have a handle on the final number of employees let go? Was it generally exploration related as previously advertised?
53 so far in Houston. Probably more by the end of the day.
