Just wondering about when the impacted employees will be qualified for unemployment benefits? After January 6, 2017?

I was laid off on March 1st and started receiving UB by March 13th. You don't need to wait until after the WARN period at least in CA. Some companies like Cisco do, but NetApp pays some extra insurance and you get to apply right away. You have to fill in the amount of salary through the WARN period and expected severance, etc when you apply, but UB can kick in right away. I'm working now, but was on UB for 6 months.
Which should be after the 60 day WARN Act Notice period passes or at least it used to be.
After you are no longer being paid as a regular employee.
