Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Legacy Smith Services

Should we divest whats left of the legacy Smith Services? Keep Bits, Fluids (toys), Whipstocks, Liners and Rhinos. SLB Engineers can handle sales and deployment of these products .

Get rid of everything else. Sell Thomas Tool and the Fishing Services. This has always been a drag on our stock.

Most of Smith Services (a BS Company) are not in line with SLB core values, businesses and blemishes our appearances .

What value does the legacy Smith Services bring to SLB?

Could I get your feedback.

Why hasn't any Legacy Smith Manager become SLB Managers or Presidents?? This company is over run by yes man, thats why. Once oil prices stabilize there will be a mass exit from this good ole boy SLB club and you'll be brushing your butt in the morning as we've knocked your teeth so far down your throat!

Knuckle Sandwich? I'll serve you up some, come get it you Knucklehead!

Obviously you haven't been with SLB very long. When you're 55 you'll be looking for a job as a greeter at Walmart. Schlumberger doesn't like old guys. You'll be one some day.

A drill bit is effictivley a cross over from the BHA to formation. Clearly the clever part is the RSS.

So we bought a cross over company when it's all said and done!

As far as not worth anything I can tell you that SLB bought Smith for Bits and Drilling tools it had patents on SLB does not MANUFACTURE they send it OV Oh and by the way the drilling contractors do not want sh-- made in CHINA not even Chinese contractors want it

They want there tools made right here in the good ol USA Htown to be sure and try to Blueprint that Schlumberger

You should leave making oilfield tools to those of us that know what the f/:;$ we are doing!!!

Once Trump wins the Presidency he will give incentives to drill. Many of our legacy people have been laid off because they are of Smith legacy, not because of their value. I predict that they will start another US company like Smith and many more will leave SLB and it's Blue Print mind set people.

And I'm sure you'll be equally as happy when you settle into your new role maintaining the gardens on the campus - best s--- it up and get those leaves picked up.

How would you like to have a knuckle sandwich with that Kool Aid mate? Legacy Smith has, and continues to be a dilutive on SLB market value. Excluding MI, Smith was barely worth 1 million.

A reality cheque please! As one poster noted, you're lucky to be on SLB payroll and should consider bring your gardening shears to work!!

Keep on drinking the Kool aid there buddy, they sure didn't look like a drain a few years back when they were kicking out bits hand over fist day in day out. But now that things are slow they are a drain. Believe what you want.

The poster who says "please sell us" is just typical smith services BS. Who in their right mind would buy them?

SLB wouldn't even get asset value for them and they should be grateful that SLB continue to send payroll. They are dilutive to SLB and rather than sold they should be put to work maintaining the campus gardens and supporting the canteen staff, perhaps then we would at least get some value from legacy smith employees.

Ditto, the legacy Smith business probably aren't worth much at this moment. Otherwise Paul probably is working on a deal with an OEM in India or China to offload the asset for bonus.

Believe me, we Smith legacy employees think it was a mistake for SLB to buy Smith in the first place. Please sell us.
