Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Guess we won't be getting print ads in our stores anymore...

Just heard at this morning's rally meeting that our store will not be receiving circular ads by the end of November.

In other words, customers will not be able to get a copy of the ad when they come in. Employees will not be able to reference anything in the ad if the need arises.

The company says "use Sears Local Ad"...many customers don't have or don't know how to use a smartphone!

Could be a sign our store is closing, I don't know...all of the butchering cuts they are making is self-mutilation. It is suicide.

Just because a store has a pharmacy does not mean it will not close. 4 stores just closed this year in my area and they all had a pharmacy. There is only 1 Kmart left in my area and the next nearest one is 55 miles away from this one.

If the pharmacy leaves a Kmart Store, what does that mean for the store.?

@Kb2AtuR-ebz Do you work in a sears or kmart store? If kmart, do you have a pharmacy in your store? They did this at a kmart store in my district and sales went over a cliff bad. There are several kmart stores remaining open solely because they have a pharmacy and the store operating hours are cut to match the pharmacy hours. This is because we have to keep a certain number of pharmacies open to be able to purchase drugs at a cost which allows us to have any chance to be profitable in our pharmacies.

It's been this way at my store for over a year. No print ad in the Tulsa, Ok., area stores. They also cut our store operation hours. We have no electronics. Our lease will be up in Feb 2018. As long as I have a job I will keep on doing my best. Do your work, as unto the Lord. Peace

It is one of the first signs that your store is marked for closure. They also won't be paying to put them in your local newspapers either.

Been this way at our store since last year. An occasional ad usually holiday. Yes it has decreased sales and foot traffic.

Yes customers ask for it.

Yes customers think we are closing.

Whoever thinks up these money saving ideas has no business sense.

It's nothing new. Several areas/stores out there haven't had print ads in over a year.
