Another Death Blow to AI (ACICS SCHOOLS)

DOE just released their final determination on ACICS and have decided to pull accreditation. That will impact a few AI's. While we know the AI's accredited by ACICS have been looking to change accreditors it is doubtful their efforts will bare any fruit. Many state accreditors must revoke approvals now that this decision is final (based on their state statutes). Gonna be a rough few months.

All of the AI's put on probation by SACS only have one year to correct their shortcomings before they lose their accreditation. For you Koolaid drinkers among us, they had two years while they were on warning status to do so and didn't. Once they lose their accreditation (Dec 6, 2017), they will fail quickly. Save your money you poor souls who, for whatever reason, haven't left. For those of you who continue to stay, you reap what you sow.

Whether the other accreditors are going to follow SACS or scapegoating ACICS depends on what happens during the 18 months. I'm projecting that most of these accreditors will try to be under the radar until it blows over or get called out. If there isn't anything significant during that time they will state whatever is convenient to stay in business and move on like nothing happened. Discounting the administration, as it won't be til next month, if the remaining Ai schools that can survive like over the past few years then 18 month is nothing more than a breeze, much less a dent.

considering how fast ITT fell because funding got put on hold, I don't see those schools surviving if theyre putting things in holding patterns.

For those who may not know this, all "branch campuses" of the Art Institute schools that were placed on probation by SACS are also on probation. That means that the Art Institutes of Atlanta, Houston, Miami, Charleston, Nashville, Arlington, Virginia Beach, Austin and San Antonio and all South campuses were placed on probation.

Got more students to quit. Just hang around campus and act like a student. Easy pickings!

So while it's "fought" in the courts, will EDMC recruiters tell prospective targets that their enrollments and potential tuition losses will be exclusive of this material fact.

Or will false inducement prevail once again?

Let me guess. That's right. Business as usual.

ACICS is going to file a injunction, so everything will remain in a holding pattern while it is fought in the courts. If the court decides against ACICS, institutions will then have 18 months to try to find a new accreditor.
