Is it true all APM jobs throughout the company are now hourly? I am in the NorthEast and my whole district went hourly... Was this across the board?

I am SNE and here is the way it was working. I received a base salary, plus commission, but was paid half time over 40 hours. So let's say I made the equivalent of $10 an hour in base pay. After 40 hours, I would make $5 an hour. Not so great right?
The new structure eliminates commission and bases any merit pay on auto center sales increases. That is pie in the sky and means nothing because it is something you can't control because it depends on staffing and the best young techs do not want to work for Sears. According to the numbers I was shown, I did some maths and I should now be paid time in a half for over time. I'll believe it when I see it.
For what it's worth, I worked 51 hours last week because the manager was on vacation and I had to skip lunches. I was scheduled for 48 hours and that is what I will get paid for because that was what was scheduled. Don't worry, I get them back in other ways. I am really fast at shutting the shop down and closing the till so I am usually out 15 mins early.
I was hired as a hourly non-exempt APM but was told today that as of Oct 30th.....I would go to a salaried non-exempt position. Same rate of pay per hour but guarenteed base pay of 40 hrs per week plus 8 hours of overtime. I was told we would still get the full base pay even if we worked less than 40 hours. Why they did this baffles me but it doesn't bother me either way! I do like the new APPli program....I can't wait to start using it.
New government overtime rules. Actually you will not get paid overtime after 40 hrs, you will get it after 48 hrs because the way Sears/Kmart is doing it is they are taking your current salary and dividing it by 48 hrs, NOT 40 hrs. Example: If you are currently making $40,000 you make $769.23 a week BEFORE taxes, fica, insurance, etc., deductions ($40,000divided by 52) Divide $769.23 by 48 and your rate of pay is now $16.02 an hr. Here's where the screw job by Eddie comes is: After the holidays the asst mgrs will be reduced to a 40 hr per week schedule so now your pay will be $16.02 per hr x 40 hrs a week = $640.80 a week pay as opposed to the 48 hr week pay of $769.23. Yearly pay @ 40 hrs a week is now $33,321.60. So Eddie has found a way to once again save money on the backs of the associates. Sears/Kmart had the option under the law of raising the salary of salaried associates to $47,476, the new minimum under the law, but instead chose to screw them.

I feel like it is made that way so that if you were to leave they can then hire an hourly APM at a way lower rate than they are paying you.
Wonder why these would make us hourly but keep us at the same pay rate... Now I get overtime if I go over 40 hours... Sweet!!
I think so, our APM is a hourly associate in Oklahoma.
