Heard a rumor that there will be some significant headcount reduction in 2017. Anyone know more about this?

Number One is gone. Soon the cascade of d---beats will begin (long overdue), starting with a few in the upper echelon on down to the person who scrubs the toilets. Watch out folks in the middle.
They are finally getting rid of the number ONE company dead weight.......Watson.
No layoffs (in the technical term), but small headcount reductions here and there will definitely continue as long as asset sales and sub $60 crude prices persist. Chevron has fine-tuned their methodology for ousting personnel to lessen its cost burden and the impact on the remaining workforce. Keep your nose clean. An impersonal email may be in your inbox anytime.
Yes more Lay offs in 2017z
@4dmd, Then we better start drilling if we're stuck with expensive drilling rig contracts.
Chevron desperately looking for farmin partners with requirement of using Chevron high day rate rigs. Why would any company farm into a lease with a requirement to use a 600,000 per day rig when a currently stacked rig is available for 200,000 per day. Chevron will be eating these high cost rigs for several more years. Hence, more big job losses in New Orleans.
SASBU still laying off and will continue throughout 2017
Each round of mass layoffs Chevron makes is greeted with smiles from investors.
Ironic that PRC may be losing people due to decreasing C&E. They've been do good at increasing it.
PRC will be firing 30 pct of its project professionals next year due to reduced C&E spend.
Nothing wrong with surfing the internet from work in your free time. My advise would be to use only your personal smartphone, not your work PC or work smartphone, as those devices can be traced by the IT department. It won't hurt to access this layoff site through a VPN connection. You can download the Cloud VPN app or any other that you like. Your comments won't be traced back to your phone's IP and the moderators of the site won't be able to block your IP from posting.
They will only be cutting Butthurt Losers like the people who visit this site during work hours instead of working. That includes those people who arrogantly brag about completing class work, surfing and doing other things while they are on company time and should be working. You know, the typical do-nothing useless entitled millennial losers.
Nothing official right now, but if oil prices are foreseen to continue under $60, be assured there will be addition cost cutting and personnel reductions. The extent of headcount reductions will be determined by BU and OpCo. Some will get hit harder than others. Wait until the end of December when corporate finance is able to tell JW and the brass how good or bad things are. By January 2017, we'll be swearing in a new US President and we'll be hearing if the layoff rumors are true.
I was told several weeks ago there would be another in Pipeline. The info came from a TL that I would actually believe.
It's just rumours at the moment
Yes in IBU
