Layoffs are not done.. More happened this week...
I agree with the OP, layoffs are over. The market has rebalanced and we'll in hiring/growth mode going forward.
why shouldnt the workers, note i say workers, get some of the money that the managment are picking up along with with the bonuses they make off the backs of those that contribute to the companys income. 2 years without a pay rise chum what incentive can you offer when other industries are paying better with more security. young people are required to replace us old farts who are just hanging in waiting for redundany or retirement.
Sure Ed, the industry is in a downturn, barely hanging on and you stick out your hand looking for MORE? Exactly the reason there will be more layoffs.
Now, now, now. Just hold on a minute. Didn't Dave himself make a statement a few months ago something to the effect that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and we don't believe it is an oncoming train. Hell, i can make statements like that for 25K per year. Let's see, i'll pull something out of my a-- right now. .....hmmm, okay here goes........ With the recent changes in strategy implementations being proposed by several of the eastern hemisphere producers the outlook for reaching a plateau in our present situation has never been better, with this in mind the promise of a potential for improvement to the situation should not lag far behind. The headwinds we have faced have been formidable, but at some point now with the promise of change provided by the agreements from out eastern friends, these headwinds should begin to wane at which point we should see sunny skies and clear sailing ahead with the potential of increased prices and revenue. SEE there? you don't need to draw a million dollar salary to shovel sh-- on the masses.
That's just fine. So, how about some retention incentive. Impetus now is to move on, find work outside this business or jump ship. Baker has retention incentives in place. I could stay or i could go, the urge is to go.
Lack of experienced hands is code for blaming the field for npt.
How about wireline PSL? Are they still laying off?
Sperry management has taken a desicion to stop layoffs. This was decided in a high power meeting attended by Sperry head honchos Martin Murray, Ed Guyton and the biggies in Houston. Sperry is suffering from a severe shortage of experienced hands. A formal email will follow this week.
Absolutely correct, another round of layoffs end September. Look at the facts. There is no point in kidding yourself be prepared.
Wishful thinking Nostrodomus,
You do realize that the price of oil went down again
And that oil fields in the Middle East keep pumping.....?????? They are pumping for a reason!!!!!
They are crippling us economically, and we will not recover until 2020
There is an upside prediction, that the oil patch will pick up Q4 2017, but that is only speculation......
Experts warn that we may never recover back to where we were in 2003 to 2008
We will pick back up, but not to where we were in the past..
I hate to pop you bubble and move the rock that you are hiding under, and I apologize for removing your head out of the sand, but "Wake Up Boy".......
You need to move on if you haven't already, and/or get prep aired for a job change if you haven't been cut loose yet.
This isn't over!!!!!!!!
There is a light at the end of the tunnel..... But it is that big'ol mutha f---in train about to run your butt over!!!!!!
Are you people switched on I take it not what happens on the 26th sept if you don't know I shall tell you that's when quater results are given why do you think they are selling property and so on.
There will be more job losses if the industry is to pick up it shall not be until mid 2017 or later this company is like the wizard of Oz but not the yellow brick but the red 1 that has come to an end
Agree, things have leveled out. Done
Hmmm
