It's true that Strat sourcing was a mess but it was down to the manager. Replaced their good people with inadequate members. No surprise that the manager went as well.

Procurement wasn't hit as hard as was originally planned. Strat sourcing was decimated because they really couldn't do their job properly
Every other scm team out performed strat sourcing. Rest of scm that was let go was high cost high performers. Ugh I almost wish I was let go . A payout is better then quitting 3 months from now.
I think there was a clear out in procurement due to their inability to get results e.g the strategic procurement function is gone. That used to be strong team.
It was said to be a merger of 'families' under 1 Canada. It was a hostile takeover because capital projects oilsands (Craig Dotson) has no work but WCBU does. Lost some really good supply chain talent too. Unfortunately we have to live and work under Rob van Halderen.
Done for now. HSE should have wiped the slate clean with DH, JM, and KI. Kept the worthless leadership in place. I guess they are just following suit and will continue their reign in a sh-*ty organisation.
45+ at the Surmont site. Lots in D&C, supply chain, finance, IT. Some very good people left and finally a few more useless people left. Good luck to those there and gone!
which WCBU team got hit? Who's left?
So sorry to those let go, and to those who have to walk by the empty offices of former colleagues. I was cut, but I'll survive.
Oil sands was relatively unscathed? Mostly directed at geoscience?
Complete massacre in WCBU, lot's of talented technical people let go.
