Thread regarding ITT Educational Services Inc. layoffs

Striking Federal Student Loans

Got this via email: Many of you have been asking what collective action we can take to get the Department of Education to use its power to discharge and refund former students' federal student loans.

We've encouraged folks to submit Defense to Repayment and to reach out to friends, but now it's time to raise the stakes.

We've talked with a growing number of former ITT students who have committed to striking their federal student loans. We made a website to announce the strike. Sign up to join debtcollective.org/ittstrike

A strike is stronger the more people who join. Together, our voices are more powerful.

If you have questions or concerns, post them here.

We will host two calls tomorrow to address these and other questions: one a 1p ET and one at 9p ET. [(916) 235-1003 PIN: 630899# ].

Please don't share outside of this group until Wednesday Sept. 14th. We have a media team and a system for managing media requests. If you are contacted you can email laura@debtcollective.org
