Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Locations that don't achieve 85% participation in Engage survey will see layoffs

Senior management have big PIPs tied to 85% participation in Engage survey.

If a location does not meet that target, there will be layoffs, redundancies and workforce reduction.

Do survey. Save jobs.

While the 85% participation is imparitive. It is a tracing tool used by Cameron management for years. SLB management should be aware the security and complacency will not be taken lightly. Eager youthful management are ready take your positions. We will stop at nothing in finding our rightful place on the ladder.

Having PIP tied to a stupid survey participation metric is pretty dumb.

Closing date for the survey is 30th of September, end of quarter is also 30th of September, so i guess they will check on that morning, see who has not done it, prepare the letters on the same day and phone the people to release them at night regardless of what job they do.

This will be interesting to watch.

Moronic. If a location gets cuts it's because they are less profitable than other locations, end of. No one is going to strip a profit making location to the bone just because less than 85% didn't answer a few questions. The idiots writing this drivel deserve the cuts.

OP is saying that they will be cut only due to NON-participation in the survey, which is NOT crap.

There will be layoffs in last week of September to make sure the 85% target is achieved.

Also as that will end of quarter some layoffs will look good in the quarterly earning report.

If you think there won't be layoffs because of non-participation in survey - then I dare you not to participate.

If that gets you totally bonerized, you may just as well stuff it up in your personal incentivized posterior (PIP)

This site is terrible, of course all areas can be cut due to less work, but the OP is saying that they will be cut only due to participation in the survey, which is obviously a lot of crap.

I have yet to read anything useful on this site.

We don't have people...not only we laid off too many, people are still quitting. From the ones that get called back, about half have said no.
