Love the comments here. After 15 years at ITT I am saddened by all the students I have seen on Linkedin that aren't working in their fields of study. Is it ITTs fault? HELL NO! Something is missing in the work-ethic of America today. MANY PEOPLE, just don't get that YOU are the only person that controls your destiny, not some school! Hell, for MANY of the subjects that ITT taught, very few of them even require a degree to work in that field of study! I didn't leave ITT 5 years ago ONLY because it was an unethical company...I quit because I was F--- I N G tired of all you whiney, entitled, lazy, apathetic losers! Not all of you. 5-10% of our students were hard-workers. The rest of you...a lost generation.

You're in AMERICA!!! When you decide to quit your bellyaching that "You're not successful now because of ITT" then you begin your road to true success.

  1. You live in America

  2. You have the INTERNET, and a free education at your fingertips (An education FAR better than ITT could ever give you: FACT)

  3. You become what you think about

The best thing you can start doing RIGHT NOW is listening to audio tapes and reading books by:

Jim Rohn

Earl Nightingale

Tony Robbins (His older stuff like Personal Power 2)

The question is, will you? Will you start taking responsibility for your own success and start working on SELF education (Which you desperately need judging by your post!). Forget degrees, forget ITT existed. You have the world of education at your fingertips, all FREE with a library card. Success isn't a one-and-done, spend 4 years on a degree and you're successful. It's a lifelong endeavor. Then you can teach your child these skills and keep him or her away from making the same mistakes.

Nope. You're stuck at your parents because you're a moron. The reality is, no degree is going to get you a job. If you weren't industrious before starting at ITT, you're not going to be afterwards. If you were f---ing stupid before starting school(not just ITT), you'll still be f---ing stupid when you're done, just with a pile of delusion on top.

I've watched for 10 years students blame others for their lack of success. Guess what, it's your own f---ing fault. Take some god damn responsibility for your success. Then and only then, will opportunity show up.

Peace out losers.

You may want to check the Department of Education on loan forgiveness requirements. You may make yourself ineligible in some situations (like if you take part in a teach out program or transfer your credits to a different school but in a comparable program). I agree with the other poster- get your loans forgiven and start fresh at a community college. Don't count on your ITT credits if you want that forgiveness though.

More information is available here: https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/repay-loans/forgiveness-cancellation/closed-school#criteria

Your debt is being forgiven so that's a moot point.

Don't give up!

First, start the process to get your debt forgiven. Remember, this is a free process for your federal loans- don't listen to organizations who will ask for a fee to take care of it for you.

Then, go back to your local community college. Start taking some classes there. You will get a solid education, and you'll get it for a tiny fraction of the price of a for-profit school.

Keep your head up!
