Since the HAL takeover fell through, look at what BHI has been doing. They're getting ready to sell pressure pumping, paring down directional drilling, basically getting rid of geoscience, and cutting manufacturing of products aside from drill bits.
I agree this would suggest that Craighead might be getting Baker ready for a possible sale. However, it's hard to imagine any large player has an appetite for Baker after the drawn out DOJ vetting that brought down the HAL takeover.
The fact that pressure pumping will be sold suggests that a potential BHI buyer might already have this capability, which I don't believe GE does.

Certain employees in divisions such as global operations, chemical operations, human resources, sales, corporate security and information technology are exempt. Note: HR and IT are exempt. Two of the least productive divisions in the whole company are designated as exempt. They produce nothing but consume large amounts of cash. What a joke.

Wait until end of this month before GE takes over BHI. Valueact dont see much Value in BHI hence Martin will have to sell BHI to GE. The upper layer of Management incl Martin. Belgacem. Soucy. Kim Ross. And rest are up for heavy bonuses once that happens.
