Do you feel he was complicit in this downfall prior to leaving his position as CEO in 2007?

Not exactly blameless. It was 2004 when the FBI raided a number of campuses over phantom enrollment.
He cashed out nearly $500 million when he left... maybe he's willing to revive the company again.
Precisely in 2005 he retired and that is when leadership changed...he cannot be blamed for any of fraudulent activities as it all occured after when the "bean counters" took charge and ever since counted beans that should have never been counted.. I just hope he is digesting current state of company without consequences on his health at his fragile age...m
NO HE DOES NOT SHARE ANY BLAME! He was out of the game way before that!!! I know it first hand!
3/4 of my debt was from then, including predatory peaks/cuso/ffelp so yeah I'd say he shares blame.
He was a true leader!!!!!! Ran the company conservatively. He was the creator.... I just hope he is healty with no heart attacks... Honestly....
