ITT is bad, OK, we agree on that. Many non-managerial folks actually tried to help me. However, DOE participated in the scam from the get go, they knew well what was going on, how quality standards deteriorated. They as more responsible for this mess than anyone else - they blessed all and they oversaw it.

How about purporting to have deans, chairs, and instructors as listed as academic resources in the recruiting/campus catalog, yet those persons gone for years or more, in order to make the campus appear to be fully staffed:

"You as students didn't do the proper homework" - now imagine a situation where FDA steps back (like the state stepped back in the case of for profit schools) and lets any drug hit the market. So, let's say you are really sick, need a medication, it's available, well marketed but it comes with a 200 page disclaimer and side-effects written using a highly technical jargon. What do you do? That's kind of what happened here to our students.
You as students didn't do the proper homework on understanding what accreditation is and how important it is for your future job and higher education prospects. Instead, you seen a commercial, were wowed by an admissions rep, and bought into the idea that national accreditation was way better then regional. I mean just think about it which one is larger?
Look we have all made mistakes but just face it; the degree you PAID for is worth nothing. No employers or legitimate schools will ever accept your degrees. Take your credits to a regionally accredited university that will accept whatever you have and get a degree that is actually recognized by state, government, etc. agencies. Or just keep telling yourself that you are actually getting what you paid for and learn the hard way. I'm sure that's what all those westwood students are doing right???
no reading required
WHAT??!! That sound rather foolish, are you serious? What kind of college is this?
how about NO THINKING REQUIRED
Some took the entrance exam many times to get in --what does that tell you about ITT?
I know many students that were promised all kinds of things like tutoring, morning or evening classes, instructors that "work with you" if you don't attend class or if you fail the exams, exam retake, no pressure math or English, study sessions, recorded lectures, no reading required, easy and fast classes, and more. They did not get any of that. Also, those who get Pell Grants paid higher tuition. Some took the entrance exam many times to get in losing many hours of sleep over them, all for nothing. We paid for a degree but received deception instead. We want the degree we paid for!
ACICS was supposed to ensure for the DOE that everything was legit. They take money from the schools and grants them accreditation, which allows them to take Federal Student Aide and loans. So, ACICS just takes the money without looking at anything. A bunch of bald headed pot-belly guys taking money, drinking and smoking, and getting fat from ill-gotten gains. Sounds like the mafia. They were supposed to be for the students and tax payers and instead were just concerned about their own profits.
Where is the trust violation?

I just checked the catalog of the campus I am familiar with, and I see some mistakes as well! Two chairs are listed in the March 2016 updated catalog, but in reality one of them quit in September 2015 and has not been replaced, and the other was laid off in early December 2015! There have been no chairs for several months. This is going in my letter to attorney general and ACICS.
Modany brags about chairs for every program, what a friggin' liar. So great to have solid evidence showing ITT-Tech lies.
Here's an ACICS exerpt on stability, that surely does not describe ITT-Tech:
STABILITY:
There shall be an adequate core of full- and/or part-time faculty to ensure sound direction and continuity of development for the educational programs. The institution shall demonstrate through outcomes, length of service, reasonable retention of faculty, and other measures that the core faculty ensures that the institution will meet its stated mission and objectives. The institution shall promote stability in the faculty through compensation, fringe benefits, professional growth opportunities, and other incentives
Look we are all speculating for the most part. And honestly the ones that are the loudest either lost money on an investment or didn't actually study and skated by.
Fact - no one has seen the auditing points so no one can definitively say what it is that happened.
From the inside - acics was visiting campus locations and was supposed to be at HQ yesterday. Why? If there was no chance in their eye to become compliant, then why bother since the DoE already took action.
The word is that the major deficiencies occurred with less than a dozen or so locations... Not all locations. <9% ?
Where is the trust violation? More bs
Perhaps there are some areas that didn't keep retention high enough because of the quality of students and their behavior?
"DOE Created the rules and raised up for profit schools. Can't blame ITT for playing within the DOE's rules."
Actually ITT Tech didn't even meet ACICS criteria in many areas but ACICS wasn't good at noticing.
DoE is late but better late than never.
Lots of ambiguous words followed by emotional rhetoric.
Where did they violate trust?
Yes, you can blame itt for violating level of trust expected of educational institute catering to vulnerable students.
Your BS argument fits right in with Nicole Elam and Modany's play-book "nobody can prove a thing.
Anyway, as many have stated over and over, itt is not compliant with acics criteriia.
Sheesh, give it up
DOE Created the rules and raised up for profit schools. Can't blame ITT for playing within the DOE's rules.
