Thread regarding Cabela's Inc. layoffs

Don't be gullible

All the visits from Johnny, the "we'll keep some operations in Sidney", the "now is the time to shine", and the rest of the ra-ra tactics is just a farce to keep lot's of people from leaving. If people start bailing, it won't be good for either company during this transition.

Once again, telling them things for their own interests. Don't be gullible, people. For those of you who actaully are professional ( there are still a few left) and still have self dignity, start thinking of your true future.

Why do people think everything will be okay. I don't work there and this makes me nervous. BP headquarters are going to be in Springfield. Face reality / there will be a lost of jobs in Sidney.

The store in the middle of no where. Think about what happens when there are no employees buying products through Sidney, and the families of the outdoor lifestyle are forced to move or take jobs for 25% pay to stay local. What will keep sales up, then? The community left that is stuck paying high taxes for all this stupid crap that they kept saying we NEEDED to have to get people to take jobs here? Give me a break.

You can keep working there until the final layoff if you want. Just know that your home will depreciate faster than your salary take. BP has no reason to keep a store open in the middle of nowhere and even less reason to have two separate CHQ.

There are big bonuses to keep us on and producing until wrap up. We get none of this, just make leaders look successful. When the ax falls, we are going to be done and jobless

The problem that has plagued Cabela's for the past few years is a total lack of leadership from the top down to the departmental level. The good managers that were around or joined the company were driven out. That was the only way they could fight against making changes, worst example of group think I ever experienced.
