Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

How many agree we should shut Bartlesville down?

Bartlesville is an awful place to work in TV if you don't believe me and come and see it for yourself! I hope we all get transferred to Houston. At least we can go to professional football, baseball, and basketball games. There are a lot more opportunities in Houston than there are in Bartlesville.

Bartlesville rocks. You are just so stuck on yourself you don't realize it. Perfect place to raise a family. Oh then again maybe you professional complainers are too young and dumb to understand Grow a set and resign move to Houston and live the life you say can only be found there. Bunch of disgraceful, ungrateful young baboons

Awww, Bartlesville. The place where they send the tired, weak, unwanted, decaying managers to live out their days, slowly pulling everyone they attempt to manage down with them. But hey, the meth is good.

@JQHNriJ-1aue Is exactly right. Glad to know someone else has had the exact same perception of the situation.

The anger towards Bartlesville is not baseless. Both ConocoPhillips and Phillips 66 continue to present Bartlesville in a light not in line with reality. Even the map to the Bartlesville offices from Tulsa follow a much more scenic and longer route. I interviewed late in the day without an opportunity to interact with the prospective co-workers. The recruiters are very competent and the compensation is hard to refuse. 6-12 months into the new role the individual contemplate the process to move elsewhere with the company but with heavy resistance from management for roles in Houston. The university new hires and are the exception to the rule but most go to work elsewhere in 2-3 years regardless. All in all , once in Bartlesville the escape is difficult at best.

A bunch of pompous spoiled Phillips brats that are past their usefulness! The way they treat everyone outside their click is awful! The hogs are so busy pushing each away from the feed trough they make it miserable for everyone! Very few opportunities in a dead end cesspool with no where to go! You may think your big fish but you are just algi in the cesspool you created!

There are opportunities in Houston, period. There ain't sh-- in Bartlesville except the big two. If you get laid off in Bartlesville, what do you do? Make the 60 mile commute to Tulsa? Houston may have much more traffic, but we know how to control it. I would much rather drive in Houston rush hour than Tulsa.

Go ahead and leave if you think there are better opportunities in Houston. No one would stop a whiny goon like you!

TV? I agree it's an awful place to work but who works in TV in Bartlesville? There's nothing in Bartlesville but meth heads! I don't even think they get TV in Bartlesville.
