Thread regarding Kmart layoffs

Kmart P2P - path to profitability!

It is path to profitability. But, most of the stores on it are liquidating or will liquidate soon. It is a major reduction in labor and severe staff cuts.

Many FT will be at 30 hrs or so and some part time will be cut to 10. many of them will quit and the few FT remaining will be stuck doing everything. They give a reduced data calendar because the data lead also has to do pricing.

The whole thing is a joke. I am guessing the bash scheduling was what we called blitz. It is where everything is taken from the stockrooms and put on the floor.

Only bulky furniture and similar things stay in the back. they will send tons of people from other stores to empty your receiving out.

That job is completely impossible to do these days at most stores though. There's too much freight in the stockrooms and not enough people to put it out. Then there's the whole problem with resets/planograms that haven't been done in forever, which makes it very hard to them to see which new items to scan for.

The data integrity lead or data integrity specialist is responsible for making sure inventory is accurate. Scanning counters for in between counts. In some stores they must fill in paperwork to report truck shortages or overages.

What does a data lead do? It sounds like something at corporate but I know it is at the store level. I am on the Sears side, I don't know a whole lot about Kmart 's "behind the scenes".
