Thread regarding Anadarko Petroleum Corp. layoffs

30 letters to management to move to Midland?

Curious to see if any managment positions were offered from other assets? Also -how many opportunities are available? Why don't they just post the jobs and let people apply/interview for them?

At first I felt betrayed and now I'm feeling blessed that my job was eliminated in March! Good riddance, currently working and pocketing the severance! Thank You APC!

Sorry folks, no packages, no layoffs in Denver happened, who is making up this crap!? If you don't accept the tfer, you are out....no severance, no package. They did this back in the late 80's, same exact thing. They ALREADY have a bad rep, people will shortly start jumping ship and they, like SME, will have a hard if not impossible time staffing/keeping key employees in Midland. I doubt there will be a Christmas party, they have really miss handled this whole fiasco, moral is at an all time low.

Don't worry the bleeding isn't for long! Oil back at 80 end of 17!

Oh yeah, we've been operating at a $700MM loss per quarter. But sure, keep your hopes up for a better package since oil is at $50. Operating at somewhat less of a loss now somehow offsets billions in previous losses. You can still bleed to death even after a tourniquet is applied.

Actually now that the price of oil has somewhat recovered from February lows, I heard the package with the next round will be better!

What does the NFL Draft and APC layoffs have in common........it's best to go in the 1st round!

What about the rest of the assets? Don't think they were offered. Guess its a smaller move?

That is just wrong. For a lot of people moving to Midland is not an option, so they are basically being fired. One day things will pick up and Anadarko will have a bad reputation on how they treat employees. I would not be surprised if they are staffing up in Midland to sell it as a whole business unit later.

If you are offered a position at Midland and cannot for any reason accept it, there will be ZERO severance. You are out of a job, period. In addition, they made it clear yoday that if you are offered a position on Friday you have until Monday to give them your decision.

Top fogs say they don't have any information however....I think it's horrible how some top dogs (Corporate Men) will at least have the balls to tell their assistant's ahead of time that their job is being eliminated, yet others could care less. Why? More "values" ... THEY still have a job and don't give a damn.

The way they are doing employees with this elimination of jobs is wrong in all aspects.

I can't think of a better place to live! Midland has the culture and niceties of a large and vibrant city, yet it maintains that small town feel! I'm certain the residents of Midland, Texas are open minded and liberal thinkers.

From an outsider looking in and a former employee I wish all the best. If you decide not to go you should get a package, if there are not jobs you can do here. This will show you the true colors of APC. I got rewarded with a great package and found another job soon after. Those of you that are left deserve the same treatment as those of us that left in March. APC was top tier when it came to taking care of us. You all deserve the same treatment. Hopefully APC will step up.
