My family moved to Sidney three years ago. Prior to relocating, we researched the company and community. There was a YouTube video that appeared to be of Tommy addressing the Sidney community in the high school auditorium. A lady from the Chamber asked Tommy about the relationship between the two. Tommy said Cabela's was ingrained in Sidney and would "never leave", would never sell, would remain loyal to the employees and citizens in the Western panhandle. We were foolishly convinced this would be a good move for our family. Thinking back, I now believe that whole question was a set up. It was a big fat lie. Interesting how that video is now nowhere to be found.
You are absolutely right. Think of how this effects everyone employee or not. It is a big scam to line the pockets of a few and cover up real problems. Unbelievable and our town will pay a heavy price while tommy walks away with millions
Angry. They let the taxpayers vote and approve new school and pool. This was the plan all along . Was city council in on this? No respect for management or anyone who works for this crooked place.
"I was in the meeting". Typical Tommy and crew response. Oh gee, dint like it, quietly go away and let us lie, cheat and steal the company blind and spend money we don't have. Sickening. I have had my fill
I was I the meeting. Nice one tommy... Nice try.
You have to remember that 10 years ago D--k was already pretty sick from his operation so it's very likely he was pretty far removed from any merger conversations. My take out of all of this is that Elliot was basically the scapegoat and no fault of his, he profited from it. Seems like management was just looking for a reason to keep the blood off their hands and it worked out nicely for them, right up until they had to put it all out there after the deal was done.

I was in the meeting. He said he initiated the conversation each time, including seeking out Tommy. Not saying he is a saint but what was clear to me was that BPS wanted this for a decade. Also, the article is very misleading. Those talks didn't go past the meeting they had five years ago and only picked back up when our Board decided to pursue alternatives. I know we are looking for someone to place blame on....we are all making assumptions that are filled with fear and concern for our futures. We all need to take a deep breath and make a decision if you plan to see this through or move on. Same decision we'd all be making even if this sale didn't happen. May god bless all of you. May all of you be free of regret or anger or fear. Time to look forward.
If it's true......and that's a big IF...........I'd call it a pretty DAMNING revelation given all the promises of transparency........And I'm not sure why Johnny would even bring that up.....I think I'd need to see a little more substance on that one....Don't get me wrong.. I do believe it would be in Milners "nature" to do something like that seeing he's a Locust....a common pest out to rape the resources of a company and then move on to the next Idiot that will hire him so he could devour them as well...........
So it looks like Tommy came in the door and started negotiating the sale of the company. Keep in mind that D--k was around then so find it hard to believe the discussions took place without his knowledge.
They all have taken advantage of the employee trust and loyalty. Sidney is done, these statements are just covering Jim in the community. Can not believe how nieve and stupid we all were.
