Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Serious question : Is there a HR policy on quitting qcom? Possible to give notice 2 days before quitting? What else to consider?

My advice is not to formally quit. Just start the new job and see how long you can collect two pay checks. I know one guy who worked from home a lot. He got around 3 months of two incomes when he took a new job before quitting the old.

Why would you use up your vacation before quitting?? By federal law, they have to pay that out as cash.

Also, I would give two weeks since I have heard that future employers will sometimes call your old HR and ask if you are rehirable

You can quit the same day. Just don't expect to be hired back

JUST QUIT ALREADY...

There's NO need to conflate the issues... the megalomaniacs sold you out already...

Here's a "secret," don't tell anybody... but, the MBA's who got their cues by watching the movies "Wall St, The Secret of My Success, Working Girl, etc... and EVEN listening in/and watching your Facebook and e-mail posts about your "IDEAS..???." that's HOW "THEY" get your ideas/information... YOU give it to THEM...

When HR decides to lay someone off, they bring a security guard and walk the person out on the same day without any notice.

To be fair, when you want to quit you could just walk out on the same day without prior notice.

The 2-week notice is a curtesy to employer which they don't deserve in new corporate culture. It is a relic of the past when companies valued ther employees and respect was mutual.
