The easiest way for Laureate to make up for their miserable finances is to cut labor costs. From what I am hearing, new employees in some areas will be getting significantly less pay. While some replacement employees may be ok, lower pay in the long run will mean lower skilled (and possibly less ethical)replacements for those who have moved on.
And that's just the first step in what's to come ahead.
For those interested in marketing and recruiting, some Laureate's practices may start to be scrutinized closer by federal agencies. While Laureate does have a great deal of political pull, don't expect that power to be there if push comes to shove. Government scrutiny may be a good thing--IF the company is willing to reform. Otherwise, get ready for increased federal investigations in the next 2-4 years.
