A good friend of mine and her co-workers that have worked for the University of Phoenix for the past 15 years were let go today because of their salaries. Never mind the hard work and loyalty they had for the company. Unbelievable treatment of hardworking employees. kicked to the curb to save a few bucks. This is not how a company should treat its work force. I will NEVER EVER spend one dime at the University of Phoenix for my childrens education or any classes I intend to take. DQSS, 20 employees, at least we were told a couple weeks in advance so I could get my doctors visits out of the way. I'm sad, but I get it.
This site is so stupid it's an out of control gossip column people make up anything to try and get their point across. You know about as much as the employees that work there about what might happen next nothing.

I just received an email of my lay off after instructing for 12 years! I was loyal to the university, always stay updated on professional development by taking tons of workshops both mandatory and voluntarily. We had to constantly take workshops that were mandatory. I took time away from my family in 3 day workshops for the past 11 years and this is what I get. I was told because I am not presently active with teaching, they will have to let me go. HELLO hear, I'm not actively teaching because you are not giving me classes!! I just recently took a required technology class that is now mandatory for teaching. However, I received this email shortly after completing the class successfully. Not only am I set back in my bills, I'm not eligible for unemployment. I am beyond hurt and disappointed. I spent a DECADE with them for WHAT??? I loved the classroom and inspiring my students. Now I am devastated!!
Try working for UOPX for 25+ years and being laid off! All the historical knowledge of the company went out the door with me.
And by the time your kids are ready for college, UOPX will be nothing but a distant memory.
It was, at one time, a respectable institution actually doing what it said it was. That was gone as soon as they brought in the Credit Suiss people who could only see ways to take everything out and give nothing back.

The university cost cutting its way back to enrollment growth. Makes perfect sense for UOP. Let's see how much total enrollment 'grows' in this last quarter.
UOP is a vocational school, not a university. It's suspect what anyone would ever learn there. Go to a traditional school if you want to learn how to think critically.UOP only teaches you how to build a PowerPoint presentation.
