Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Ponca employees told to keep their mouths shut.

Employees at the Ponca City plant were told not to speak to the media about the plant closing, but to refer them to Jeuseppi Muzzi. As of yesterday, the local news has not been able to contact anyone for comment. They're not answering the phone. Typical. Ponca employees are asked to relocate to Houston for "no less" than their current pay. Really?

This move will be the final nail in the coffin for Smith Bits. You can bank on it.

Muzzi is a Smith guy, his methods have always been quite harsh and unethical even before the SLB "merger". He always overdeliver his cuts, the last one has been about the "voluntary" furlough in Houston, he requested his reports to cut 15% when he was only asked to cut 10%. In this way he get his fat paycheck and his complimentary Maserati.

The guys in blue aren't better, but this one is green as it gets.

None of this should come as surprise to anyone, this was their intention all along. Smith used to be place you could be proud to work at, now under big blue it's almost an embarrassment. Why would anybody relocate with them just to get the walk some time in the uncertain future?
