I keep hearing rumors around the campus that the house of mouse is looking to acquire us. Could the boneheads responsible for EAH be in line for that well deserved smack on the bum before they're shown the door? Are we ready for more reductions? Silo styled management and cast member status? It's not like the old days. Disney has tightened their belts and run cheap.

if disney bought mattel they would dismantle all divisions in a heartbeat. just looking at us on paper they'd most like turn their noses up at us like a giant stinky turd.
I just heard from a valuable source that many in the AKC aka A-- Kissing Club just all got promotions for generating nothing content wise after being moved from the DC to theTower.
BTW, I wonder how Dickson's savior/the best designer in the world Adler is working out for FP? His trademark designs have to be flying off the shelves correct?
Bring back AC and his see through shirts. I loved his nipples.
Rumors of a buyout? Some VP must be getting ready to cash out their atock options.
Wouldn't that be the ultimate twist? After years of doing so to other companies Mattel gets absorbed and dismantled for its parts and not valued for it whole.
As a Fisher Price employee, I'd love to see this. Mattel has essentially trashed the FP brand and put people in place to make sure our products remain mediocre, but "at cost". Disney seems a lot more in line with Fisher Price values. The sooner FP can distance themselves from Mattel, the sooner the healing can begin.
I could see Disney buying us and farming out the business to other companies and finally producing quality movies/animations for said properties. makes sense to me.
Why would Disney want to get into the toy business?! They already have it pretty good in garnering substantial royalties - getting into the toy business means they'd have to deal with:
Development
Manufacturing
Logistics
Advertising
Mark-downs
They take 10-15% in royalties without having to develop or manufacture product. Taking on the those functions means they'd be looking at a LOWER profit level than they have now, not a GREATER one. Purchasing a company means the former, not the latter.
Now.......if they wanted to buy Mattel for the properties we own and then license them out to other toy companies, there COULD be a deal where they'd develop Barbie, Hot Wheels, Thomas , AG and the rest of our IP into blockbuster content. I guess we'll see.......................
