Regional Conference Call scheduled tomorrow morning followed by District Conference Call for Wisconsin in the afternoon.
Should be interesting to see what happens. Willing to bet the hiring freeze and the additional stores closing, that they are trying to keep openings at stores for managers to transfer out of the closing ones.
Or the company is going belly up all together. Who knows? Will know tomorrow afternoon though.
I work part-time in Copy and Print. We were informed last night about being closed on some holidays and having reduced hours on others. We're losing our ASM (he's being transferred to a nearby store) on October 22. We were not told that full-time non-managers are losing their jobs but that could be still be "secret" at this time.
At stores in indiana and kentucky,some asm's and all senior sales furniture consultants layed off,last day Oct.22,2016.This whole thing looks very ominous like a Tornado coming,Roland Smith magically announcing retirement,many employees bailing for greener pastures and sales very s---y,people in corporate don't care and continuosly making bad decisions and policy disregarding employee input or ideas.Goodbye Office Depot it was a good run!

are some stores too small for the CSE position? We lost the ASM but did not get an opening for the new position.
Store divided by Tier (stores under 3 millions will not have an ASM but a key carrier called CES). Some will lose their job and get a severance. Pay scale has been change across the board and some employees will be affected.
Very interested and nervous for this news as well
