Graduation?

I finished my program this last Thursday...but not sure what to expect. To begin with, our campus was one of those without a Dean, Program Chair, or Campus Director. Now, nobody answers the phone and today when I stopped by...the doors were locked!

I know prior to this week a graduation ceremony was planned...I suppose that's a pipe dream now.

@1gse, those of use who worked there even had long periods of disbelief! But then those undeniable truths kept intruding into our consciousness, demanding attention.

Like.....

Re-hiring of Modany earlier this year, after he was accused of fraud (sure, the trials are not underway yet, but the evidence is overwhelming).

Trying to teach math and science classes, in a way befitting college level tech school. Then finding the provided curriculum, tutoring policy, admission criteria and prerequisites, hopelessly disorganized and dysfunctional. Bringing up issues with supervisors resulting in nothing but pointless paperwork.

Seeing Deans and Directors s---ing up to headquarters, putting obedience to Carmel BS above any real interest in student outcomes.

ACICS only stepped in after they were threatened with a death sentence by the DOE. They need to go as well as they have been asleep at the wheel as well. At one time I thought the stories that I heard about ITT, Fortis and some of the other for-profits were just tall tales. Grade inflation, financial aid fraud, lies by recruiters and horrible outdated curriculum were just tall tales propagated by disgruntled ex-employees. As they always say, there is a kernel of truth to every story. I think we have evidence of a pretty big f'n kernel. I hope in the end the prosecutors have a field day across the US with the files they seize in the upcoming weeks.

ITT Tech, the Enron of Education. Enron traded worthless energy derivatives, ITT gave out worthless diplomas. Why did they do this...GREED

"There are tip off an fraud reporting lines you could have called at the state agencies, at financial aid or the state attorney generals office."

And do you think that all these events have happened without teaching staff tipping people off? Seriously? It has been going on for some time.

"To the teachers, staff, and administrators of ITT, you are just as guilty as management in Carmel, you stood silently by and allowed the screw job of these kids to continue so you could continue to collect a check. There are tip off an fraud reporting lines you could have called at the state agencies, at financial aid or the state attorney generals office. "

How do YOU know that teachers, staff, and administrators posting on this board did not tip off investigators? I know personally a few that did! At some risk! So climb off your high horse, please. Some of the paths that DOE and ACICS have followed the past couple weeks, some of the stuff in the letter ACICS wrote to ITT-Tech August 17, sure sounds like it is using some information that likely came from tipsters.

Find out who is responsible for the career colleges or for-profit schools in your state as most state grant a license, permit or authority to operate in that state. In Ohio, this agency is the State Board of Career Colleges and Schools. http://scr.ohio.gov/ConsumerInformation.aspx

File a complaint, call them as you will most likely need to use this agency as they will most likely become the custodian of records when ITT shuts down. It was this way when Bliss College, Corinthian, Everest, Kaplan, and many others closed. Call your senator, representative and complain so loud that something is

When are people going to learn that profit and education will never mix well. The pot o money is too tempting. With a public university, when fraud is committed they have to answer to the people and ultimately a judge and jury. ITT gets to answer to a puppet board of directors and a bankruptcy judge. The students and the tax payers take it in the a-- again with no lube. ITT students from across the country should head to Carmel Indiana and stage an "Occupy Carmel", Maybe if the students get outraged enough the national media will stop ignoring how a company screwed students across the country. Who paid off CNN and Fox to keep this off the sites?

To the teachers, staff, and administrators of ITT, you are just as guilty as management in Carmel, you stood silently by and allowed the screw job of these kids to continue so you could continue to collect a check. There are tip off an fraud reporting lines you could have called at the state agencies, at financial aid or the state attorney generals office. You are all compliciant in this crime, and you get to live with that guilt for a long time along with a stain on your record that will haunt you for a long time. By getting students to come to ITT that had no business attending school, how many dreams did you wreck by taking money away from deserving students that may not have recieved aid to go to a real scchool? How many lives did you wreck by pushing people into debt they could not repay, wrecked their credit, and wrecked their families lives.

You all deserve the beds you have made and get to sleep in. I hope you all sleep well at night. Karma is a b--ch and you all will reap what you have sown, I sugesest that many of you need to visit the confessional booth. I really hope that all of you can live with yourselves. Just following orders or policy is not an excuse, suposedly you are in education which means you should be able to think and understand that what you were doing was wrong or maybe you just have no soul.

Just makes me sick the way we take advantage of other people,

I am so sad to hear about students who feel they are left in limbo. I worked as admissions rep for for less than a year and received negative performance reviews for not making enough "sits", and for not delivering my "conducts" with misleading info. In my location, several students from a nearby for profit college that shut down earlier in 2016 made their way to our ITT. It is sad to know that those students are once again, (for the 2nd time) left without a clear direction. I am glad that you finished your program and I hope you absorbed as much as you could from your educational experience. I hope you apply that knowledge and make that passion and energy reflect in your interviews. A big part of the hiring process does have to do with your enthusiasm and demeanor. Be approachable and confident (even if inside you're worried). Best of luck to you.

Since there was no management for the campus and classes are over, it wouldn't shock me that they closed up until we know what is going on.

My campus is still having graduation as planned, so I would assume yours would be too. Not sure who is going to be running/planning it though.

Its was supposed to be a surprise, but Modanny is supposedly going to be giving your graduation speech. Afterwards, the grads want to entertain him with a massive all-night barbeque. Lots of song and dance included.

I suggest calling the offices of your state representative, senator, congressmen. Tell them exactly what you wrote down here. Seriously.
