WesternGeco is expanding it's operations. New boats are in the pipeline (Excuse the pun). Twenty percent increase in staff, mostly new graduates. At least two new centers are opening in the US and a total of 6 more worldwide. There are also plans to purchase a least one other rival, probably PGS or Spectrum. They are the largest money making division of Schlumberger

I agree with the post. WG are doing great in NAM due to the success of the Bay Of Campeche spec survey that was underwritten by millions of dollars. Also the award of the Western Approaches spec survey. WG will be expanding that is a given
I learned to spell from a TV commercial
Bologna has a first name,
It's O-S-C-A-R.
My bologna has a second name,
It's M-A-Y-E-R.
Oh I love to eat it everyday,
And if you ask me why say,
Cause' Oscar Mayer has a way with B-O-L-O-G-N-A!!!!

What a bunch of baloney
What a lot of crap. WG will be sold soon that is a fact
WG is actually hiring a lot of new grads world wide this year.
Whoever posted this b**t should get their facts straight before posting such nonsense. The 1st poster is correct when he/she states that wg may never come back. WG is a total waste and should be spun off if a buyer can be found.
Bogus - WesternGeco do not produce logs. I think you will find that is Wireline. WesternGeco acquire and process surface seismic data. Now if you are getting confused on terminology, no problem
Absolute nonsense. They are losing massively. Even more important, they joined low tier competitors from the far east. There are more logs for sale than can me made offa them.
Of cause it makes sense for exploration to be the first ones to kick back in but there is no demand for slb services at the moment or anytime soon. Chinese have the software and the work force... There is actually a good chance wg is never coming back.
