Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Furloughs, will there be any at HAL?

Check out the Baker board, sounds like something HAL would do as well....

What ?! , hell you should be pissed. What's the extent, how long or how often? Manufacturing only? Really? That should set work relations back a bit.

Yes, mandatory furloughs announced today. I call it BS that's it only for manufacturing.. Why not technology and engineering too? Manufacturing is not the only place to cut!!

As a leader in the industry, Schlumberger started furloughs for salaried employees a long time ago along with significant pay cuts for field staff. It is surprising that more companies haven't done it already considering how long the downturn is lasting this time around. If Baker is doing it, then I have a very strong suspicion that Halliburton will follow the trend also.

and baker had that 3-1/2 billion windfall from dl's failed takeover, and they are still trimming. nah, look for something more akin to plant and office shut downs during new years, X-mas, t-giving
