I've heard that the layoffs have targeted the higher grade employees at Cisco, who are typically the oldest too. This aligns to a suggestion that Chris Dedicoat wants to reduce the average age of the Cisco sales team and that he believes younger employees can do as good a job, but a lot cheaper. I'm sure the irony that this is the case for him too, isn't lost.
