Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

Jurassic Park?

Curious as to what Mattel had to do to get the Jurassic License from Hasbro. Did Hasbro want to let it go? Or, did NBCU really prefer Mattel's ability to do dinosaurs. Thanks.

huzie is the most incredible example of "failing upwards." how she manages to stay employed is a bewilderment to all. she was a mediocre marketer at best but managed to latch onto the monster high success and ride that train to the end of the line picking up supporters like Allmark when that ding dong had influence. she's tanked everywhere she's been shuffled to and the only significant improvements she's made in 28 years is to her waist line. and people wonder why we're down. look up at the people who look down on you!

Mattel overpaid for this license by 25% as they promised increased distribution because Universal thought Hasbro left too much money on the table by not shipping enough last year. Funny thing, though - you don't see much overstock of JP because Hasbro called the volume correctly and didn't overship.

It's not Huzie's fault though - the company has sent her on a mission to buy up licenses at any cost - regardless of whether it's profitable or not. And what can you expect from someone who's only been at one company for 18 years? She's got no perspective on the real world or how business really works. She doesn't even understand how the company's P+L works. Yeah - she thinks she's the next CEO - like the shareholders will put someone with her lack of breadth into a leadership role like that.

MattHell will screw this line up good but it won't really matter for Hasbro either way. The JP movie is being delayed until '18 & the studio wanted more money than Hasbro was willing to pay so they bounced.

In fact, the two lead actors are in a dispute & there's talk that worst case scenario the movie will be dropped completely. Hasbro's stock took an unexpected drop even after strong 2Q #'s so can't until until MattHell's 2Q propaganda where I'm sure they'll point & rave about the really great deal they got with the JP license which I'm sure they over paid for & will generate poorly designed/sculpted/under decorated cost reduced product that won't sell even if the movie does get released.

Another Jurassic MattHell Mistake, let's see what their 2Q numbers look like.
