Thread regarding Williams Cos. layoffs

Just curious - has anyone had any success associated with Lee Hecht Harrison (LHH) services - Williams provided?

Resume is a huge part of getting a job. LLH reviews your resume and rewrites it in a different that s---s ass The whole resume comments below in regards to their service is that they pride themselves on a great resume. The only good resume is the one that works. For the poster that is curious about age, I'm forty does that make a difference. I performed all the steps that LLH suggested none of them worked. The one that worked is the one I had all along so what is the point of a service that says your resume s---s you need to update it to this sh--y one. They were useless and a big waste of time. Keep using them for remaining couple of weeks you have them for free and then pay for their services afterwards if you like them so much.

Age is a big problem, they said to leave it off your college graduation date and any experience greater than 10 years, also die your hair. However they did not give any tricks on how to prevent somebody from goggling your name and how to fill in application forms when the computer demands the age or when hr screens it out when it is not on the resume, throws it in the trash.

I don't see how you can hide your age, almost seems like a waste of time.

It's not what you know it's who you know. The reason why their services aren't worth much is they don't have contacts at companies that are worth working at. Sending a resume to a job where 200 others have applied may not give a good result especially if you are older.

It sounds like the resume made a big difference, just curious what was it in the resume that was so good in one form and no good in the another form?

What was the difference in resume and what did they do wrong? How old are you?

I sent them my résumé and fixed it up like they wanted. Submitted it to 20+ job postings did not here back from any of them. Submitted my original resume to 10 postings heard from all ten, turned three down, interviewed with 5, accepted one and waiting to hear from another (the best one) on follow up interview next week. The one I accepted I have been working for them since May a month before LLH contacted me. LLH is the biggest joke and is just another bad decision that Williams Management waste money on.
