Very true on the last post. I would push it back the 20th till which ever last day of the month. Upper management want to save cost. Whom ever dept. feels the individual is weighting down budget spending for the month/quarterly will be cut. I think most individuals now see the repeated layoffs at the end of the month and quarter. Whom ever said Quota to reduce down 65,000 was right. Better start marketing yourself if your making more money then your managers or a threat to your manager. They will cut you 1st just to saved their own butt. Schlumberger is a dog eat dog world now. Check your head up high for those who were let go. Your time and efforts were appreciated by individuals your work close with. Schlumberger have no emotions and time. They will keep moving forward with or without you.
SLB doesn't gaf about timing. I've seen ppl get cut right before or after Christmas, right before they schedule major surgery, right before a kid was born. The worst time of the month is probably the 20th to the 24th because OFS Reporter (the financial bible) closes on the 25th of the month and the managers want to make sure they get credited for the firing in that month. If you make it past that point you might have your job until that same time next month.
Sorry that OP lost their job. But in a way you can see it as your Independence Day. You're free from the SLB sh--show.
