Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Drug test layoffs

Anyone have experience with random drug tests at Hal? Back in 90s whole units rounded up for tests when managers needed to cut. Typical shenanigans glad i left.

You are some kind of special, or your camp s---s so bad they are forced into drug use.

I always figured these were nothing but a gimmick, with the ones who were 'fired', being "traveling employees" sent there for that very purpose, newly hired, work a few weeks, then 'fired' for failing a drug test', only to move on to another camp, where the process was repeated, to instill fear into the employees.

A traveling road show, er, circus, is all that it is.

Yes test all employees onshore & offshore as I believe this is part of contract as and when required

I can't believe I just read that. WOW! Now if you worked somewhere that didn't have policy's against drug use I could understand.

Yup, when you get a test every month for 2 to 3 months the layoff is coming.

It's not unheard of. it's an easy way to cut people and deny all benefits if they fail the test.
