Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Let's have responsible management participate in the sacrifice

Since management from PG 28 and above is responsible for poor planning and lack of forsight (i.e running too many mega MCP's at once and assuming oil would stay at $100 plus, etc) lets eliminate bonus, stock options and raises for those PG 28 and above until they right the ship. The rest of us have paid the price; let them feel some of the pain.

They get big bonuses whether the company does well or not. Rest assured they are going to get theirs no matter what happens. The rest of us need to get more efficient and give up perks to make sure they don't have to do without.

"Management is not to blame for low oil prices"... Yes? ... Then they also should not have gotten huge bonuses when the price was high. Either one takes responsibility or not: no only when the news is good.

Management is not to blame for low oil prices. Management is to blame for forgetting this is a cyclical industry and not being prepared for the eventual downturn.

Yea, i heard the rumor about the gemmed turd chair. I hope it isnt true. That is a great analogy of a lot of the assets. They may look good to some (investors), but at the end of the day they are simply a bowl full of $hit. The royal toilet is overflowing with a long line of turds with names (mcps).

-1cvj, it is rumored that JW's throne in his private bathroom in San Ramon is gold plated and studded with gems. There's also a secret Masonic inscription around the rim. I'm starting to think it reads; "Whom sits upon this throne, rules over the world."

Chevron's management is only responsible for the good things that happen. The bad things are the fault of government or God.

What a common sense approach....hold the ones who are responsible for decades of piss poor decision making accountable for their actions. Makes all the sense in the world to me. Problem is that the king and his court make the rules all the pee ons have to follow. Accountability models that are driven down from the top do not apply to senior mgmt. They will never be held accountable for their actions as long as JW is on the throne. Hammering them would be hammering himself since he is the one who is ultimately responsible for the health of the company.

It's Chevron. Are you expecting the people responsible to be the ones to pay? You obviously don't know how this company works.
