You must be employed at the time of the payout or be affected by the LR. If you leave on your own, you're out of luck.

It will be included in the package - and is subject to you signing the Severance Agreement. You do have period to consider the severance offer - and during that time you can look for an alternative job within Cisco. However if you sign the Agreement, it means you have agreed to take the package and leave the company. You will no longer be entitled to be eligible for the Internal Hire jobs. If you get re-hired as an external candidate in the short term, you may have to pay back some of the severance amounts - so read carefully. I suggest that unless you are very sure you want to leave Cisco, don't sign immediately - however attractive it may look to you tomorrow.
I am glad the number is lower than the rumored 14,000 but I still feel for the 5,500 of which I am one.
Yeah... What happens if I leave on my own before the bonus payout. Looks like the payout is Sep 30th.
