if the number is 14000, then it'll be unavoidable to not layoff new hires... they also did back in 2001.

I was told new hires are usually exempt.
Age and wage. My group was heavily impacted in the first layoff in 2000, and I had no project, and I was fine.
If the entire team is cut, then not much to do.
New hires are fine..
you're fine, don't worry, they're only laying off people with skill and experience.
I doubt many, of any new hires get impacted. Your age is probably a bigger indicator than your start date. It's no secret the company is making an effort to widen the bottom of the org pyramid with more younger employees. While this is stereotyping for sure, a younger workforce probably has better software skills Cisco is targeting than the established workforce with 10 years + tenure.
Probably not. The final list of names was submitted prior to your start date (if it was indeed 20 days ago), so I'd say there's a low probability of it happening.
Not to scare you but they are more likely to layoff new hires than experienced workers. But as the other said the package is very generous for new hires.
yes but you'll probably get a redundancy package similar to people who've been there for 3-5 years
Cisco. It's not just a job. It's an adventure. Because of this, all is possible. You will soon learn why it is important to keep your resume up to date.
absolutely! They could just use a BS reason saying that you're not a good fit during your probationary period. Anything can happen.
