Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

A BU HR Manager made a comment in a town hall that the package would be "two years pay for every week of service." Witnessed by hundreds.

Her PSG is high enough to make contract for the company. Worth pursuing? Class action?

Dividend will get cut in 2018 if wti not $55+! Based on internal email between execs. Cvx staff cuts by that time will amount to 45%, minimum. If Wti not at $60 by 2020, dividends at 50% by today's standard, and staff reduction at ~65%!

Two years per week, with a 52 week cap, means that Chevron owes each employee who takes the severance in 2016 104 years pay. Not a bad package.

No another Hitlery Supporter, just like you. You know, the pathetic kind of person who was fired from one of her first jobs for lying and ethics violations. The kind of person who laughed about getting a child-molester off with no sentence. The kind of person with a butt-load of blood on her hands that goes a long way back. The kind of person that gets away with everything that she does illegally that would be a crime for everyone else. But of course, with her there is more of chance that you will immorally get something that you did not earn, like a good little parasite liberal leech...So DO remember to vote for your shepherd who buys you with promises of other people's earnings, who will continue with the free-bees so that you can continue to be a worthless parasite led by a criminal.

IF she said it, and IF her PSG is high enough, the case would have value and merit.

@IU97IiT-1nfy, Thank you , butthurt loser troll, for repeating the most commonly abused comeback on this entire site. Incorrectly accusing someone of being someone else in the thread as a joke as if you know who an anonymous poster is, like only an adolescent loser prick would pretend to. Please come up with something new. You guys have run that one into the ground.

Thank you, HR Manager, for clarifying your faux pas. We also knew what you meant, even when you make mistakes, we know better. Relax.

JW will go down in Chevron history as the biggest d!ck of his times. Lots of loyal and hard working Chevron employees will lose their jobs just because this a$$ thinks the dividend needs to be preserved.

JW has made it clear on many occasions that dividend preservation is THE (his) highest priority. Chevron is not going anywhere. Yes, the company may have another 1,2 or 3 years of lean times, but the dividend will not go lower. Just expect more layoffs in small numbers every 1 or pay periods. We will see what the future holds. I am just not optimistic.

If JW won't lower the dividend on his watch, then take him off the watch. Fire his a$$ and temporarily replace him with someone who will lower the dividend. Then later, the BOD and shareholders can name a successor. Case solved.

So Watson will completely destroy the company just to avoid lowering the dividend? He's something else.

I believe the dividend will stay the same or go up for the 4Q payout. JW will not lower the dividend on his watch. Just lay off additinal hundreds or thousands of employees, sell more assets, delay more projects and wait (pray) for oil to maintain $55 or higher. No way is this dividend going lower.

This dividend yield of ours is unsustainable. Mark my words, folks. I wish it wasn't necessary, but the dividend will be lowered by the end of 2016.

Finally, the precious dividend is recognized as not sustainable (at current crude prices). It's getting serial-er and serial-er.

That's about right, 1lfw. Many Chevron employees actually only put in 1 week of real work every two years. That's why we've been laying off lots of non productive people. More still to come.

Two years pay for every week of service It's 104 years pay for every year of service.

So, my pay would be about 800 years of service?

You should definitely pursue it. Not only that but never accept the first offer. You should hold out for 3 years salary for every week of service. Don't you know anything about negotiations?
