Thread regarding Cabela's Inc. layoffs

Made it our of Sidney

Well we finally made it out of Sidney. It is very bittersweet that I say this, I leave behind friends that I have made. M home that I purchased for my family. A church home that I will miss greatly. I move on to a job that is significantly more stable and certain, albeit a somewhat reduction in wages. I leave behind our home with hopes that the realtors will be able to sell it for me. I hope and pray that it does find a new family and that the bank does not reposes it and it sets even longer.

What i will not miss is the juvenile back biting and games of not only the business on the hill but those of the city of Sidney as well. I will not miss the crippling taxes levied by a local government that seems to prove it lack of money sense and savvy at every turn and decision.

I bid Sidney a fond farewell. You were my home for many years to me and my family. I have no hard feeling. just wish things did not turn out as they had and we could have stayed.

Why is Tommy still there - simply don't understand how the shareholders put up with this unbelievable mess. He has single handedly thrown this company away. Unbelievable how far it has fallen. The board, the key execsneed to go, period.

a post exit interview with their lawyers? What are they afraid of? What is done in the darkness will always find its way to the light.

Thank God I am gone. When I left I had a post exit interview with a Cabela's lawyer. We was so concerned that I was going to spread the news of what was really going on . Then he let it slip about a person needs to put up with the situation. When there are legal and moral issues people do not need to put up with the situation

Well put Really?. a very clear and concise explanation. It is sad that there are many families in the same position. That feeling of being trapped.

To the original poster congrats and good luck. I to know what it feels like to be forced out, (so to be speak. )

I too miss Sidney and the few friends I have left there who have chosen to stick it out. I also agree with the original poster concerning the rampant juvenile, high school politics and games. Of both the hill as well the cit in general. There are plenty of good hearted. hard working people who still live an work there.

To any 3i21 how do you know this person situation To make such sweeping comment exemplifies the general attitude of many of he individuals who live in Sidney. Have you walked in this person shoes . I swear You are guilty until proven innocent. before making harsh comments conferring such general and imposing judgment

There IS a lot of Truth to the original post. Probably some truth in the first reply as well so let's look at the set up and Trigger. Cabela's was a legendary company, in the top places to work anywhere. Cabela's Leadership has Pi$$ed away MANY good people in this masquerade game of Hide the sausage they are playing with people's lives and what once was a great company. So the catalyst is a greedy group looking to line their pockets by "killing the Cow one time for bigger profit, instead of milking it for steady income over the long term". Good luck to those who make it out and for those who are complicit in chopping up the company for and now WITH Elliot - May the Fleas of a thousand Camels infest your Armpits.
