Hold on buckaroo. MZ is great at getting others to create his presentations, going on starvation diets so he can fit in tight sweaters abd putting on his "I'm not sure" duck lip face. that's how you climb the ladder here bright eyes.

MZ is clueless with respect to what it takes to Develop and become a good Fisher Price toy. He should go back to NYC, or better yet, transfer to ES to work on Mattel toys.
I'll bet you MZ is going to get core. all hail the queen! With KS on Thomas we are so screwed. ks's type "a" personality can only go so far and it adds nothing to the product output. if anything it kills morale. SL has been a fail since day 1. they're in charge for the fire sale and transition to ES
Well, by the recent announcement, it looks like JM's gone (don't believe it that she's ever coming back from "leave") finally, and that the remaining she-wolves have taken her out.
Now that KS is only handling Thomas, and the other HiT brands are going to SL, who's going to run FP core? It CAN'T be LM!
anyone with a stock app on their phone can see that Mattel has already fallen behind on their promised turnaround. let the blood pour like wine!
whoever the overly optimistic person is on this blog who thinks the company is headed towards "successville" is either incredibly sarcastic (in which case, I applaud you!), or is incredibly naïve (in which case, I feel very sorry for you...).
Whether you're in design, engineering, marketing or any other function, you need to understand MATH. The company's bottomline cannot be achieved because of the dividend that keeps the stock afloat. If the dividend were reinvested into the company, then the stock would drop below $20 and the company would be ripe for takeover.
All the plans that management put together for 2016 were supposed to over-deliver in order to make up for the loss of Disney Princess. It's clear that those plans haven't materialized. That means that in order of the company to make its numbers, it needs to make up in the 3rd and 4th quarters, what it lacked in Q1 and Q2. Mattel simply doesn't have that momentum and will fail.
If it fails, then there'll be a new CEO, new President and then a whole new senior staff in 2017. That's the hard facts about dealing with a public company. So.....all the hoopla about content and Barbie, etc. just doesn't mean a thing. Barbie is being overinvested in because the company can't survive if Barbie lags. All other brands will suffer to pump her numbers up. All the other acquisitions are just "noise" they were cheap because they didn't work as start-ups, and yet Mattel is somehow going to make them profitable? Yeah, right.
hahahahahahaha! I haven't seen Jean since the 3 day weekend. Wonder where her useless a-- slithered off to?
Look at everything in development from movies to multimedia to futuristic aspirations. Only a fool couldn't see that we've righted the ship and with Barbie leading the way right in the conductors compartment of Thomas, hauling our friends from DC , JP, and FNF we have nothing but positivity ahead of us. couple that with our increasing workforce overseas there's no way we won't pay out on our dividends. You folks need to stop being so bitter and get on that party painted Thomas train towards successville!
Don't know if they are but those seem like facts. And 2Q call seemed underwhelming...gotta wonder what these analysts are seeing/hearing to make the assessments that they do? I am sure they are way smarter than me, "upswing". AG at TRU? There was an odd LA Times article about Fuhu last week that seemed like very old news. Did anyone else see it?
whoever is saying Mattel is on the "upswing" is delusional and can't read the facts of what the company is and isn't saying in its reports:
1) Mattel is down 4% year over year with the loss of Disney princess and the bravado of Huzie and management that we'd make up the volume with all the other brands
2) All the ToyBox projects are margin dilutive to the business: they require more advertising $, more product development and less return on investment. It's like buying 200 tickets to the lottery and winning $1, while you starve your kids.
3) The core brands are all down mostly due to siphoning off advertising $ to inflate and overspend on Barbie -which isn't delivering the results it needs to in order to have justified the shift
4) Jean has been put in charge of FP even after having tanked American Girl due to her inability to quickly make decisions and show leadership. Her lack of understanding in direct selling for AG is only eclipsed by her lack of understanding of the preschool market.
4) Mattel's stock is unreasonably high but still not at the $40 target set for this year even with all the maneuvering of the business - nothing is working as it was planned to this year
5) The company did not make it's projected revenue or profit number in Q1 or Q2 and will miss again in Q3. This means it'll be up to a "Christmas miracle" for Q4 where to make up the shortfalls in the first 2 quarters of the year, we'll have to overship all brands again and face huge markdowns in Q1 of 2017 (again).
So where's the "upswing"? Remember, the metrics that management portrays are meant to make you feel like your working for the underdog. But really, we're all working for the dead dog. Without reinvestment of the dividend into advertising and promotion, we'll never get out of this hole we're in.
hahahahahahaha! Hulianna & Huzie! Love it.
Much to everyone's pissing and moaning on this site the company is on an upswing.
Get ready to say good bye to her. Next week, after Labor Day, the next re-org will take place and she'll be gone. Thomas will go to Hulianna and the rest of NYC office will stay with Huzie. In 2017, they'll dismantle the NYC and move it all to El Segundo.
So true. Sarah looked down on EVERYONE. Obviously not raised well when it came to socializing with anyone below her standing. No social grace whatsoever. The woman made hitler likable.
Sarah's gone because Jean got rid of her. She didn't like her from day one. Not a big loss though since she only cared about herself.
Ok, I have a real problem with that! This is our leader, someone who is suppose to have a handle on the pulse of the company.
She could give a dam! It's so obvious that she only cares about her own self interests!
She pops in from time to time to show face. Gives an "i'm better than you" important stare, like the VP sarah that was booted, and disappears into the ether.
So wait a minute, sounds like she's not to be found in the NYC office and she is never in EA...where is she then?
If anyone on the board in reading this...please take some action!
She offers nothing of value and certainly isn't earning what the company is paying her!
Is she even still around? I haven't seen her in ages. Hell, if he wasn't bounced for the $$ issues I'd think clueless Vin was still in charge. That's how little of an impact Jean has made. Useless.
Isn't Jean the blond lady I n the mailroom?
Completely disagree with the last post...things are much better as a result of Geoff's influence. Thankfully Jean is no where to be found, otherwise we'd be back in the toilet.
Walkers risks didn't payoff. that's why FP is still in the dumps. they replaced one boxing for another
I miss Geoff Walker...he was all about creating great products and was willing to take risks!
I doubt Jean owns a pair of shoes that would be appropriate for EA.
Jean does what every other senior manager at Mattel does: tells her subordinates that they need to cost reduce the product and their teams.
Meanwhile she and the other senior managers ride around in limos, take shopping trips to Europe and Asia on the company tab, and make sure they squeeze every penny out of the company before they take their golden parachute out.
Exactly. another member go the golden parachute club who's hiding somewhere awaiting the announcement that the plane has hit the right altitude for her to jump.
Jean who?
Fisher price is better off with her missing. She brings nothing to the table
Jean is another useless import that Pisors would huff that butt with excitement if it meant someone recognizing him for being anything other than a wet rag yes man.
Wherever she is, she's giving someone a condescending, icy stare.
She's the one crop dusting near by Pisors desk.
