All the reed hycolog bits are doing great... I get so irritated when I see hycolog field engineers face after a successful run... Smith manufacturing team really need to work on design...

New Tektonic bits are hauling a-- though- best thing is they are affordable and cheap to manufacture without compromising performance!
Agreed. A smaller company which experienced and motivated employees could take over right now. There are plenty of engineers, machinists, welders, sales people who know what it takes to make a company successful. And they're out of work right now, laid off by the big companies.
Only way reed has survived last 10 years is off of royalty fees of others. Now as a NOV company, like all big corporations, they've run it in the dirt like SLB will do to Smith, HAL has done to SDBS, and Baker done to Hughes Ch. If there is every an opportunity for a smaller non-Corporate bit company wanting to take over USA Bit business, now is the time...
