Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Advice for those Of us still at COP

Everyone still at COP has to be seriously contemplating EOI, even those who need to continuing e a career somewhere. Here's something I found that might help sort out the decision:

Fools take a knife and stab people in the back. The wise take a knife, cut the cord, and set themselves free from the fools.

COP is full of fools. Back stabbing, life draining, soul leeching fools. The leadership is non-existent and they are driving the company toward a piece by piece sell off that will cause continued mass layoffs until there's nothing left worth buying. They'll finish it all with a pathetic little whimper and skulk away with their golden parachutes none the worse for wear. And they won't care for a second about the thousands of employees and their families they've crushed along the way. It's just business, right? Time to get to work on cutting that cord...I'm not getting dragged down by fools anymore.

Simples - ConocoPhillips has pre-shale North American assets that do not compete in todays shale North America. Their Bakken and EagleFord are so great that they support three onshore rigs. ConocoPhillips have exited deep water walking away from Senegal even ... they have not executed a major capital project in years and the capability to do so is leaving. Hard to see a future for ConocoPhillips ...
