You have to do what is best for your family and yourself. The company will not help you find another job if you get laid off.

What is the date? Is the engineering day cancellation (scale-back) because the two events are too close?

Good Luck all ! Stay positive ! Some of you will move on to rewarding challenges at a new company. Some to retirement. Some new careers. But you will survive.

Europe layoffs were done step by step within the last 2 years nearly each quarter. Therefore anyone got hardly aware about how many guys were laid off. PR + social media "disappeared" overnight from one of the European offices. We are expecting next layoffs September. What we are all aware of is the incompetent handling of HR Europe, not only firing but insulting people and not even taking care of the laws concerning pregnant women.

I'm seeing that in my (former) department. Some of us got laid off. A bunch of others watched us booted out of the building w/no notice, and decided they'd rather leave on their own terms...

The good news is that some people have already left. They decided to control their own destiny !
