Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

The Texas WorkForce Commission wanted me to report min 3 job contacts attempt per week. How to get it done in this no job opening world?

There is not even one job you can find advertised for production engineer, or completion engineer, or well intervention engineer, or petroleum engineer, or operations engineer, or well surveillance engineer or artificial lift engineer (or any other petroleum specific jobs like reservoir/ drilling/ facility/ pipeline/ simulation engineer) in one month in all of USA.

I need some help and tips. What innovative job titles you could suggest such that I could fulfilled Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefit requirements (i.e. 3 job search contacts per week).

What is your experience with filling out the Work Search Log that you can share? I am not expecting outright lying for the UI. However, I want some help to reasonably fulfill getting the minimum 3 job search each week reporting in order to qualify for my UI check. How often TWC wanted me to submit the weekly job search report? Thank you for reading and giving tips to help all of us in the same situation.

I think I posted in the right forum because this is a layoff issue.

You only have to make 3 contacts, not have 3 interviews. It does not matter if the company you contact is hiring. Just go to their website and send your resume to the email address under the 'contact' tab. Keep a record and cc yourself if possible. There are plenty of oil industry companies to do cold calling contacts for your unemployment benefits.

go to sonic/ mcdonalds/ walmart and fill out an application. Ask for your current salary. If they hire you great. If not you did try

The more specialized you are the harder the job description to find. The TWC really doesn't care that you find an exact or similar position - you could apply to almost anything and write it down. I've been through it twice and no one ever checked my records. However, I did have a TWC rep call me one time and ask how things were going. Also, you don't submit the actual report form, but you will have to routinely check boxes saying you had the required number of job applications in order to get your checks. Just keep the report forms in a file in case audited.
