@ xvi: I don't think the action had been filed yet--so without class certification, there is no class settlement. Most likely a collective action brought on behalf of the 7 only. Still, if EEOC was involve, QCOM could have to pay as much as $300K per violation, other state and federal violations, plus costs, plus fees,...

I wish this information was shared by the 7 brave women within QWISE or in some form to other women engineers. I am sure a lot and lot more would have come forward, forcing the HR to look through the complains filed over the last 10 years. There are many that have been suppressed and shut down with incorrect findings and verdicts.

Uwq:. Definitely is peanuts... For the amount of anguish and self doubt inflicted on these hard working engineers when opportunities are taken away from them and given to someone else by the sheer reason of gender.

These folks don't understand the pain and anxiety inflicted on women when they are a victim of this kind of discrimination. Even so more when the woman is truly a hard working engineer and putting in a lot of extra long hours away from family and at the end of it, she is simply being brushed aside in favor of a male engineer, without being given any valid concrete reason. I can surely speak from experience.

Q is really paying peanuts!

Good on the 7 women who brought this lawsuit. Qualcomm stacked the deck to allow favoritism, and lost or drove away the best of the female engineers. For the women engineers who burned out and/or gave up, there will be little recompense. I graduated at the top of my engineering class, so yeah, I know I was smarter than all of the f*cking fratboy brown-noser, nepotistic, face-timing male engineers at Qualcomm, so don't give me any of your unqualified/diversificiation whines.

$19 millions is a drop of water in massive Q cash reserve; the money the plaintiffs will receive is nothing comparing to pain caused by this abusive Qualcomm culture; executives should be counted responsible and sent to jail.

Typically, lawyers are awarded 25% of the common fund in class action lawsuits.

No the people who filed may get but chunk close to 100k. Others would get remaining

So that's like 6.5 k per person ? It's way too little for having mistreated women with discrimination.
