Thread regarding Cabela's Inc. layoffs

The lies continue to roll!

Did anyone read the KSID recent write up of the layoffs? Why don't you tell the truth Christine Wamsley? You have not shown this "dignity & respect" that you speak of. You do not value these employees! You just don 't want the public to know what really went on!

This company is a hot mess....Senior Managers will come into your office to tell you the layoffs are coming, but not to worry, your job is safe....and then the next day they call you into a conference room to give you your walking papers. I want to know why there are managers with no experience supervising others who are experts? For Pete's Sake....you have a hair dresser managing part of the HR department!!!!! And why was the CFO not terminated for not paying taxes? There is no accountability anywhere.....We were told to cut expenses, but then two days later, employees are taking off early so they can go to a company sponsored retreat in ASPEN!

I thought the statement from Cabelas was a total crock of crap. Exactly how many were there? "Several" equates at least 4 or more. So four or more dozen lost thier jobs. Workers speculate around sixty, but she said the acual number was "far less." Well I'm no math wiz, but I do know that just four dozen equals 48 at a minimum, and while it is one dozen less than sixty it is not "FAR LESS." They just dont want to give the number and start the panic okce realization sets in that this sinking ship is going down with the City of Sidney in it. Also the buffer about reapplying for Cabelas is a joke. Have we forgotten about the hiring freeze?

Know of one. Was in IT and then showed back up selling coffee. Excellent career path for those looking to support a family. Every one should line up right away for the chance. Only new hires in the last several months appear to be spouses - and that's probably because insurance benefits are already covered by the other one, so the company saves money on the benefits package.

Opportunity to apply for current and future openings- just wondering, from the September 2015 layoffs how many have gotten hired back for a different position?
