Cant understand why in our store we are holding over some of last years merchandise. like Christmas trees, some apparell etc. Inventory is coming and seems llike nothing is being done. Of course there is no one there to do it. And hours are getting worse, everyone cut. Much worse then last year this time. Part timers are leaving and I cant blame them. Low wage , no hours you cant live like that.

The inventory is what backs the latest loans. Kind of a catch 22. If the inventory declines then the collateral for the loans is not there. If the inventory increases that means the merchandise is not selling and there is no cash flow.
Do you guys do your own inventory or get a service like RGIS? I know when I worked for RGIS we did a few Kmarts.
i love how many of us only get three to four hours a day and at least 45 minutes to an hour of that is spent in our daily rally to spew the shc b.s to everyone or to tell us how useless we are for not stocking fast enough or signing up enough people for SYW or credit cards etc. How do they think we can do our job when 1/3 of our time is spent in a useless meeting?
our inventory is coming soon and for the last week they are having us clear our stock room. everything has to be on the floor. nothing can be kept in the back anymore. there are not enough people to do any of this so a few of us that are there are always there.
The inventory is being held over because SHC cannot afford to buy new inventory for this Chrismas, or any other season really. Vendors will not give SHC credit to ship or manufacture goods for the coming seasons so SHC needs to keep as much old inventory around to try to get through the next season.
You will be seeing the store keep most merchandise from prior seasons from here on out for this reason.
If vendors will not give SHC credit or will not ship unless paid up front then it is game over.
same in our store. I always thought inventory was a serious matter. doesn't seem to be this year.
