Their not done. With Bits and tools slowly combining in NAM, there will be double managers, double engineering groups, double sales groups, and there is even double VP's in Houston. So with that said, someone has to go home. Tools isn't selling anything so their numbers will bring down Bits even further into the Red as Canada is already dealing with. How will D. Rapp and P. Higgins work the numbers will be interesting.
NAM has been in the red two quarters in a row. Management has no idea how to get it in the black other than continue to lay off more people. I wish they would take the steps BHI is doing presently - laying off and retiring old assmanagers that's been bottlenecking up things for past 10 years. Thanks to these managers, we have once again another huge age gap in this down turn.
At $50, you can bet on it.
There is always meetings after lay off rounds. Just go to the meetings and drink the koolaide.
Since you do not attend I can assure you the word is always the same....No more lay-offs coming. That always means to pack out your personal junk in case you have not done so already.
You will know that the recovery has started once Schlumberger announces another round of layoffs (post-facto). They have an excellent track record of getting rid of people just prior to them becoming necessary to grow. Short SLB and go long on HAL if you see this happen.
We're at the end of a quarter. It's always spiked at the end of quarters.
No 3% of land starting last week to finish by end of month to close quarter. 6700 is current number with about 200-300 week pace. These numbers do not include Cameron and should expect 8-10k total this quarter.
